Fast food can get a bad rap. Sure, it's usually not the healthiest option for something to eat—but it's always there when you need it, like when you're on a road trip, are hungover, have a case of the late-night munchies or simply need food that's quick—and cheap.  And out of all the countries in the world, America has fast food on lock. We're home to the OGs like McDonald’s, Burger King and Taco Bell. But across the country, there is a slew of smaller-scale regional favorites, like Maid-Rite and Culver's in the Midwest, Zaxby's and Whataburger in the South, or In-N-Out in California. Then we have the higher class breed, like Burger haven Shake Shack. Out of the many fast-food chains, we've ranked our favorites—and called out the must-order dishes at each from the potato olés at Taco John's to the spicy chicken sandwich at Popeyes. Read our list of best fast food restaurants, and prepare to get hungry.

If aspiring to live like a character in a Nancy Meyers movie is high on your wishlist, let us direct you to this recent USA Today story: America's best coastal small towns. These 10 oceanfront and lakefront communities offer the finest scenic views, historic attractions, and excellent restaurants, and they're brimming with old-world charm. If there was ever a place to embrace the Meyers-inspired coastal grandmother aesthetic, it's in these places. These waterfront cities have a lot in common despite their differences in geography, terrain and climate. For starters, they're all walkable and offer the convenience of having restaurants and attractions nearby. Most benefit from year-round activity, while a few are best experienced in the summer.  Stuart, Florida, is the No. 1 spot to rock your half-tucked button-downs and chinos. Located on Florida's Treasure Coast, America's top coastal small town provides much in the way of leisure, including fantastic places to picnic and several museums, such as the Stuart Heritage and Road to Victory Military Museum. Second on the list is actually inland, the wonderfully charming Saugatuck, Michigan. There's so much to see and do at this lakeside destination, including art galleries, breweries, restaurants and beaches, of course. It's popular with vacationers and a romantic place to host a wedding.  Photograph: Shutterstock Florida makes a second appearance with Key West, number three, thanks to a vibrant arts and culture scene and nonstop

Taco Bell fans are a loyal bunch. By the last count, the average Taco Bell customer visits the fast food chain every 11 days. Even more impressive, by the company's estimates, around half the U.S. population visits the restaurant every month.  Why so much love for the Bell? For starters, it's hella good. Each menu item packs in a symphony of flavor and texture—cheesy, crunchy, salty, spicy—mashed up in various formats that are easy to take to-go and supremely satisfying to eat. A Dorito-flavor taco? Yes, please. Mexican pizza? Absolutely. A tortilla shell wrapped in a pillowy soft gordita and packed with the most delicious sauce known to mankind? Hang on, on my way to my nearest Taco Bell. Be aware: the chain likes to keep its customers on their toes by discontinuing some fan favorites and bringing them back at various times. The way they play with our hearts, and stomachs, is possibly part of the allure. With their bold flavors, innovative twists and irresistible combos, it's a hard task to say which Taco Bell menu items are the absolute best. But we've taken on the difficult yet important work of evaluating all of the dishes at Taco Bell—and ranking them from worst to best. Did your go-to order make the cut? Take a look and see if you agree with our line-up.

Just in time for summer travel, Airbnb is updating its Extenuating Circumstances policy. The new guidelines will apply to all reservations taking place on or after June 6, 2024, even if you booked earlier. The policy covers how cancellations work and whether guests will receive refunds or credit if something causes them to cancel the reservation—and covers when and if a host can cancel without fees or other adverse consequences. First of all, the following events are covered, meaning that you can cancel your reservation if one of these conditions applies: Declared public health emergencies and epidemics. An epidemic or public health emergency must be officially government-proclaimed to count. Endemic diseases like the flu don’t count, nor do diseases commonly associated with the area in question (Airbnb uses the examples of malaria in Thailand), nor does COVID-19. Government travel restrictions. This only applies to mandatory travel restrictions imposed by a governmental agency, such as an evacuation order, and doesn’t apply to travel advisories, even if they are government-issued. Military actions and other hostilities. Acts of war, hostilities, invasions, civil war, terrorism, explosions, bombings, rebellions, riots, and insurrection: these all count. Large-scale outages of essential utilities. You may cancel if a prolonged outage of essential utilities—such as heat, water, and electricity—affects the vast majority of homes in a given location. Natural disasters. Natural d

Summer is essentially synonymous with camp if you're a kid—just think back to your childhood and picture warm, sunny afternoons out on the water or in the woods. But that doesn't mean the fun stops when you grow up, and we don't mean taking up a job as a counselor. Feeling nostalgic for the good ol' days? Consider attending an adult summer camp in the U.S., where you can partake in classic outdoor adventures like kayaking and archery, albeit with a grown-up flair (think: mimosas or Bloody Marys at breakfast, cocktails in the evening and that include arts and crafts and spirits tasting). Ahead, we’ve rounded up the best adult summer camps across America—ultra-luxe offerings included.

Earth Day 2024 is just around the corner. While we all should strive to consider the Earth in our everyday choices, Earth Day serves as a reminder to be conscientious about the products we use and the waste we produce, and to keep sustainability in mind when we make choices. From sustainable cities to low-impact travel companies, we do have more ways to be mindful of the planet. Even NYC restaurants and bars are aiming to be more sustainable. This Earth Day you can participate in an Earth Day event near you, and learn about how you can help protect the planet and combat climate change. What is Earth Day? Earth Day is held each year on April 22 to raise awareness of environmental issues and promote eco-friendly practices. It was first held in 1970 in the U.S., and has since grown to include a range of events around the world. Why is Earth Day on April 22? Earth Day was first proposed to be held on March 21, 1970—the first day of Spring. It was later changed to April 22, a date between colleges’ spring break and final exams, so that it could be held as a “teach-in” to focus on environmental concerns. What is the Earth Day theme for 2024? Each year, Earth Day has a theme that focuses on a particular environmental concern. The theme for Earth Day 2024 is Planet vs. Plastics. The theme aims to raise awareness of plastic pollution, reduce single-use plastic consumption, demand an end to fast-fashion, invest in technologies that can reduce plastic use and demand a 60% reduction in t
